First Grade
In 2016-2017 we'll be exploring the questions including "why are native plants important?" "how can we help our environment?" and "why is it fun to play outdoors?"
Skill OneStudents will learn to care for and respect the plants and animals in our environment. Here students are assembling a butterfly feeder to attract invertebrates.
Skill TwoStudents will explore living things both large and small. Here, students are choose seeds to grow for our native plant garden.
Skill ThreeWe hope to expose students to environments they may not experience otherwise. Here, students explore Cuyumacca Rancho State Park.
Students are exploring why is it important to protect the places where we play? We strive to get outside with students every day of class playing and exploring in outdoors. Students will work to beautify our native plant garden as a means to help bring "nature" to our school.
We hope to connect all first graders to the outdoors through an off campus field trip. Planning is still in process but adventures are soon to come!
