Third Grade
This year in outdoor leadership, we are looking at what happens if we don't Leave No Trace. Leave No Trace is a series of environmental ethics that ensure we minimize our impact on the natural environment. Students will look closely at what can happen to plant and animal species if we don't dispose of our waste properly. Through collaboration with I Love a Clean San Diego, California State Parks, and The San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy, students will look closely at the plants and animals that live in our areas and how they are affected by pollution. Lastly, students will collect trash from our local NTC park to be used as materials to make animals. Animals will be auctioned off during exhibition to raise funds for the Ocean Clean-up Project, an effort to rid the world's oceans of plastic pollution.
